OmniOutliner 3 for iOS brings structured writing to a wider audience with the introduction of OmniOutliner Essentials and adds highly anticipated features to OmniOutliner Pro. Both versions are available for a free trial, allowing users to try out all the features.

During the two-week trial, users can access all the features of OmniOutliner Essentials and Pro. After the trial ends, OmniOutliner can still be used to view documents for free.

ESSENTIALS EDITION FEATURES (Available via In-App Purchase)

• Dark Mode: OmniOutliner automatically adjusts its interface to match the display mode of iOS.
• File Browser: Now utilizes Apple's file browser, offering more flexibility in document storage and syncing.
• Multiple Windows: Enhance productivity on iPadOS by working with two documents simultaneously.
• Drag and Drop: Easily transfer text between documents or even to other apps.
• Keyword Filtering: Filter outline content using keywords with the new Filter icon in the toolbar.
• Simplified Inspector: Quickly access document and text styling options with the redesigned Essentials Inspector.
• Improved Outline View: Row handles and Status Checkboxes now follow the indentation level of rows, improving visual clarity.
• Recent Documents: Conveniently access recently edited documents in one place, regardless of local or synced storage.
• Templates: Apply pre-designed templates or themes to existing documents using the new Template Picker.
• Printing: Print documents directly from within OmniOutliner using the new Print option in the Share menu.
• PDF: Generate a PDF copy of your document with the new PDF format option.
• New File Format: OmniOutliner 3 for iOS now adopts the .ooutline format introduced by OmniOutliner 5 for Mac, allowing for compatibility with third-party cloud sync platforms.
• OPML Mode: While editing OPML files, features not supported by the file format are hidden or disabled.

OmniOutliner Pro 3 includes all the features of Essentials, plus additional capabilities:

• Omni Automation: Cross-platform scripting with JavaScript.
• Focusing: Overview of your document's sections to enable focused work on specific areas.
• Status Bar: Reminds you when content is hidden and provides easy access to your full outline when focused or filtered.
• Drag and Drop: In addition to text, images and other files can be easily added to documents.
• Filters: Create and save keyword filters; advanced filters created in the Mac edition of OmniOutliner can also be applied if syncing with OmniOutliner 5 Pro for Mac.
• Optimized Inspector: On smaller iOS devices, the Contents and Text Style Inspectors open in a unified view; on larger devices, they appear as a unified sidebar, improving accessibility. The Inspector sidebar now persists on the screen when space allows, making it easier to make multiple changes to your document.
• Outline Column: The outline column can be placed anywhere in a multi-column document for enhanced customization.

• Password Encryption: Secure your documents with AES-256 encryption by adding a password.
• New File Format: While default file format is zipped, package files are still available for specific scenarios, such as version control.
